New Motorola Razr, the Razr Droid Verizon Smartphone

Via the cell phone reviews blog and old school cell phone site Mueller Deals, comes word that the Motorola Razr is Back. Specifically the Motorola Razr Droid Smartphone is coming soon on Verizon Wireless.

The Motorola Razr was a very popular super thin cell phone that was available on all the major cell phone plan carriers around 5 years ago. Prior to the explosion in Smartphone sales after introduction of the iPhone, the very slim Razr was perhaps the most popular style of cell phone on the market. The razr was available for ATT ( then called Cingular), Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and many other carriers. The Razr phone was available in colors such as silver, black, blue, grey, and pink, and in model numbers like the V3, V3c, V3m, and more.

In the current phone marketplace, the features of the Razr would make it a lowly "feature phone," but Motorola has made great inroads in the smartphone market with the Droid and its various incarnations ( Droid X, Droid 2). In what may be a very smart move from a branding standpoint, it appears that Motorola will be unleashing a very slim smartphone- The Droid Razr- through Verizon Wireless starting in November 2011.
